Intelligent off-roader
In Hong Kong specially for the launch of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado was its chief engineer Sadayoshi Koyari. And on hand to welcome him was Patrick S Lee, managing director of Crown Motors.

Fast Ford
Many members of the Hong Kong Ford Club joined executives of Ford Hong Kong to welcome the greatly anticipated arrival of the Ford Focus RS, the racing version.

VW rocks!
Volkswagen Hong Kong is the title sponsor for the upcoming Big Four Concert, and so the Cantopop singers were invited to enhance the grand opening of the new VW showroom on Gloucester Road.

Luxury off-road
The word "Outback" has a special meaning for me, as I was the first person ever to ride a motorcycle from Sydney to Cape York, the northernmost point of the Australian continent. The road ended at Cooktown, and I faced another 1,000 lonely kilometers in the outback, with the BSA Bantam bike as my only company.

Dazzling British
Guessing that the press would want to know how the car got onto the roof, Jaguar Hong Kong offered a video of it being driven into a container and lifted by crane to the roof patio.

Heaven's door
The recent Hong Kong launch of the all- new Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni supercar was both high class and emotional.

Hong Kong Car
Not only are we producing our own car, we are also saving the planet: MyCar is battery-powered. The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and EuAuto Technology recently announced the official launch of their home-grown electric vehicle, MyCar, in Hong Kong.

Sporty refinement
It happened to me the other day in the all-new Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG. My perceptions rotated in stages. First I was thinking: "Wow, an AMG version of a 6.3-liter Mercedes! This will be hot!" Then I was told this was an AMG version only in the quad tailpipes and the special engine exhaust note.

Hidden power
Decades ago in North America, Volvo was advertised as "The thinking man's car." If you cared for your family, you would buy Volvo. CEOs asked you for advice. You never broke the speed limit.

Discreetly hot
In the past few weeks, I have tested several cars that surprised me by appearing to be refined executive sedans but turning out to be heart-pounders on the open road.

Luxury Land Rover
We have seen some fancy car launches over the past 30 years but, apart from those involving jet travel and ancient European castles, I believe Land Rover is the winner with its recent launch of the new 2010 range at the magnificent residential project, Beverly Hills, in Tai Po.
